Design
Dox Electronics was tasked with delivering a seamless home automation solution for a residential client seeking full control of their home’s key systems. Using Control4 as the backbone for the project, we integrated a variety of features to provide the homeowners with an unparalleled smart home experience.
The project included the following key components:

Whole-House Audio: A distributed audio system was implemented, allowing the homeowners to enjoy music in any room or zone with exceptional sound quality. Zones can be individually customized for different audio sources and volume levels.

HVAC Integration: The heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems were seamlessly integrated with the Control4 platform, enabling the homeowners to manage and automate temperature settings for optimal comfort and energy efficiency.

Centralized Lighting: A centralized lighting system was installed, enabling the creation of customized scenes and schedules to enhance ambiance and energy savings. Lighting control is accessible through touchscreens, keypads, or mobile devices.

Pool Integration: The pool system was integrated to allow easy control of features such as lighting and temperature, all from the same interface as other home systems.

Shade Integration: Automated window treatments were added to improve privacy, energy efficiency, and light control throughout the home.

Landscape Lighting: Low voltage landscape fixtures were used to illuminate the exterior of the home, with schedules to automatically turn on at sunset and off before sunrise.

Control4’s intuitive interface allows the homeowners to manage all integrated systems through a variety of control options.

Challenges
The project required a custom lighting system for indoor and outdoor spaces and an outdoor living space designed for entertainment. Our team delivered fully integrated and user-friendly home automation.
Custom Lighting System for Indoor and Outdoor Spaces
Our goal was to design a lighting system that not only enhanced the interior ambiance but also highlighted the home’s exterior. The challenge lay in creating a cohesive system that offered both aesthetic appeal and user-friendly functionality.

Solution: We used high-quality outdoor fixtures to illuminate the home beautifully while ensuring durability against the elements. For added versatility, we provided the homeowners with full control over lighting colors, making it easy to set the perfect mood for holidays and special occasions.
Outdoor Living Space Designed for Entertainment
Designing an outdoor entertainment area that catered to all guests—whether at the bar, pool, or sitting area—was a unique challenge. The goal was to create a setup where everyone could enjoy a game or movie, no matter where they were in the space.

Solution: We integrated Screen Innovations’ 360 screen, which allows a projector to display images on both sides, ensuring an optimal viewing experience from any angle. To protect the outdoor projector and maintain the sleek aesthetic of the space, we utilized a Future Automation motorized projector lift. This innovative solution concealed the projector when not in use, protecting it from weather conditions while maintaining a clean design.
